What a rotten day... I was supposed to have an interview in Madison today but they rescheduled it! You know when you get all psyched up for something and then have that let-down... Yeah, that's me today. So I went for some retail therapy. Target of course...

And I found something that I have been looking for for a long time. A bulletin board with some kind of mail slot/basket kind of thing. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find, but finally, here it is...It's perfect! Doesn't take much to make me happy, does it? Now it just needs a new home, preferably in Belleville in a 3 bedroom house... Sigh.

I need it.

It's like KitchenAid is torturing me...

It's like one day you're just doing your thing, going to work every day, dreaming about your future...

Then, Pow! Engaged. Bam! Fiance gets dream welding job in Verona.

So what's a girl to do? Well, find a new job I guess! And a place to live. Yikes!

And of course go steal paint chips for dreaming of painting imaginary house girl does not yet own... I said dream didn't I??

Well, the cat is finally out of the bag. I'm getting married!

Eric wanted to wait to tell people until last weekend, so I've been keeping the most wonderful secret. But now I can share the news... And the ring! The picture doesn't do it justice, but you can get the gist of it. It's a brilliant cut center stone with a thin band that is set all the way around with little diamonds. And it's gorgeous. So sparkly!
Now we just have to figure out a wedding...

and one more thing...

I so eff-ing want this.

Ain't ya proud?

I can't show the whole thing because a certain mother of a certain niece reads this blog on occasion... Wouldn't want to ruin a 3 year old's birthday would I? But isn't it exciting? Applique for gods-sake! I'm like a sewing savant... Just don't mind all the crooked stitches or papery-shit sticking out, OK? Thanks, I knew you'd understand.

what my bathroom now looks like...

So I have joined the world of contact lens wearers... Which I didn't think would be a big deal, but for someone who has gone 27 years without trying to shove something into their eye, changing that now is kind of a big deal! I'm not that squeamish about putting in eye drops, or touching my eyeball, but man... Contacts are not quite as easy as I thought they'd be! Plus I get this lovely assortment of junk to keep in my bathroom now too! But on the bright side, I did get a new pair of bad-ass Isaac Mizrahi sunglasses from Target last night. They're like these, but black. Very chic. Pardon my excitement, but I haven't been able to wear sunglasses for over a year. It's Fantastic!
